The clean design of Heartwood Joy Box Wood Duck House caters to wood ducks, providing them a cavity for their nesting needs. The slanted roof overhangs the body of the home  protects the oval shaped entrance hole from moisture.

It has Ventilation holes at the top of the frame helping to regulate the interior temperature and gaps at the base of the duck house which act  as drainage holes.

Wood ducks will nest in the areas around wooded swamps, ponds, or marshes.  The nest is made of wood chips and down.  Located in a natural tree cavity or man-made birdhouse.  The nest is generally 5 to 50 feet above the ground or water. If successful broods are raised, Wood Ducks will often return to the same nesting site year after year to raise successive broods.
